and in this corner...
Who: Daichi, Iwaizumi, Saeko, Kuromochi, any other boxers?
When: Night after the opening ceremonies
Where: at the olympic village bar
What: A bunch of super pumped boxers get together to talk about the upcoming events, tips and tricks about fighting other countries, and general rowdiness.
Rating: PG13 on the account of drinking and surely swearing
Daichi's been excited for this moment ever since he received his formal confirmation he would be competing in the tournament. He spent every day training his ass off to make sure that he could really win this thing.
But now that he's here? That this is real? Daichi is practically vibrating with anticipation. He's never been a part of anything this big, and he might only get the chance for it one, maybe two more times depending on whether or not he gets any broken bones. It's wild.
The best part is that he gets to meet everyone. People from back home, people from across Japan, all who are in this event with him. He knows a few of them - old friends and people from nearby, and the others are new faces, or ones he's only seen in passing on fight nights.
None of it matters now, not when they've got a back few booths all to themselves, cold pints and warm company. Definitely the best place to be.

That's if he doesn't pass out in the bar with the rest of the boxers.
Sure, in the coming days, there's a chance that they're gonna be facing each other in the ring, friendship long forgotten for the chance of gold around their necks, but that's nothing to be worried about. What's a punch in the face between friends, really?
He chugs his pint before pulling it away with a sigh of relief. That really hit the spot.
"Next round's on me!"

Iwaizumi especially, even though him and Daichi fight in different weight classes they've had their share. Growing up and fighting in the same area in the same gyms, it's been an easy friendship between them and Daichi couldn't be happier to see him here too.
Daichi laughs at the declaration, slamming down the last of his own beer. "Well if you're paying, then let's get something top shelf."

"Oi, let's not get crazy this early!"
There's only so much he's willing to spend this early in the games.

Iwaizumi probably should reconsider his life choices hanging out with a tipsy Daichi who is definitely trying to use his natural cunning to get other people to pay for drinks.

He can see what Daichi is doing, trying to rile him up.
It's sadly working way too easily.

He orders himself a shot though. He won't order more if no one else wants any, after all.

And just to show he can, he orders his own shot.

"Cheers, Iwaizumi!"

He growls out, knocking back the shot before he tosses it into his face.

"Oi, don't go breaking things and making a mess. C'mon." Or adding anything extra on their tab, honestly.
no subject
"I'm pretty sure I've thrown worse things into your face."
Like his fist, to be honest. Which would you rather get, Daichi?
no subject
Fists might be worse but at least they're easier to deal with in the long run.
no subject
Maybe, but Daichi does speak truth there. Fists are less hassle for future purposes.

I guess so.
