its been assumed that i'm soft or irrelevant
who: kominato haruichi & you at the winter games.
when: the day after opening ceremony
where: olympic village ice rink
what: getting in practice before the first big day. OTA.
[ being at the olympics has overall been nothing but an exciting experience. haruichi walked in beside his brother at the opening ceremonies, light with his anticipation and his delight, clutching his fingers in the pockets of his official issue jacket and trying not to get embarrassed under all the attention. the first day had been giddy and light, warmth of spending time with a team of people he'd practically grown up with making him want to float away, but the next morning, it was work time.
after all, ryousuke wasn't going to let him walk away with a medal without a fight, and there was no way haruichi would back down from it either.
his first performance is in two days, giving him a little leeway with practice time, and he's planning on taking advantage of it, just as much as his other fellow skaters: from an early hour he can be found running his routine on the ice, practicing any trouble spots over and over and over, spinning and leaping through the air as gracefully as he can. it's, admittedly, nice not to have to worry about his bangs, and for a little while, it's easy to get lost in just how fun skating is. even if he'd been so nervous he was going to throw up last night, today he feels at home. in his element.
of course, he can't skate forever, and haruichi can be found unlacing his skates to get lunch around noon, taking the utmost care of them as he unlaces the pair that were gifted to him by someone awfully important so many years ago. ]

(sorry buddy.)
haruichi smiles, genuine and warm, because even if they're competitors, they're teammates first. ] You too, Oikawa-san! I don't think we've competed on the same circuit before, but I really admire your style.
