we're welcoming change.
Who: Jun Isashiki & Takako Fujiwara + Jun isashiki & you
When: First week of the Olympics
Where: Just outside Olympic Village, Olympic Village's least highbrow drinking establishment
What: Jun mouthing off to the press + Jun at a pub the night before team japan's softball team's day off.
Rating: PH-13 between her mouth and the drinking. I'll bump the rating if things get racy!

[ There's a reason Jun usually isn't asked questions by the press. Sometimes some reporter gets the genius idea to direct a question her way, but most of the time she's just there to give the kinds of answers that aren't going to get Takako's hand on her wrist and then let someone with the interest or energy for that particular ball game take over. She's the ace of the national team, she's learned not to run her mouth, but sometimes - sometimes, and way less than anyone might suggest, thank you - she snaps.
In her defense, the question about the America-Mexico game being fixed is basically tabloid level journalism. Even if she did think the refs were dirty (she doesn't), like hell she'd say so in public with her own game in thirty-six hours.
Either way, here she is, her aura reaching Tetsu levels, as she prepares to verbally eviscerate this idiot ]
The hell kinda question is that, huh? I've got your fixed refs right here, if you want 'em--
[ Jun, your fist is not a referee. ]
open
[ It's late evening in the least fancy-looking of the bars in the Olympic Village that finds Jun sitting at a high table, nursing a beer and watching whatever's on the TV. Sometimes she has an annoyed comment to throw out - especially when it's a softball or baseball game - but mostly she's just hanging around, looking for people she knows. She'll wave over anyone even passingly familiar. Can't let those Australians take over the whole place! ]
Hey! You're Team Japan, right?
[ And if she does know you, she'll follow it up with a grin and your name. ]

better late than never?
It's tempting to just let Jun go, but while in her fantasies people get smart about Jun and leave her alone for the rest of their time here, the reality is that the more Jun says, the more of a story she and the rest of the team will be.
All it takes is a deep breath and Takako's moved bodily between the "reporter" and Jun, grabbing Jun's fist as she does so and hauling it down, keeping it behind her own back while she speaks. ]
We have every faith that any claims of tampering with the objective judgement of the officials will be investigated, and in the meantime we look forward to meeting Team Australia tomorrow.
[ She's the picture of demure femininity, exactly the kind of girl a reporter would look like a jerk if he pressed too hard for a better soundbyte. It's mostly natural, too; the only betrayal might be how tightly she's holding Jun's hand behind her, but that's as much to keep Jun from saying anything else as it is to give herself some control. ]
