OPENING CEREMONIES
★ WELCOME TO THE SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES ★
[ congratulations, fellow athletes, and welcome to the summer olympic games! the opening ceremony was beautiful and involved lots of pomp and circumstance. enjoy the team walk, snipe at the country in front of you's uniforms, wave at the crowd, throw up on someone's feet out of nerves and excitement, but most of all, make sure you smile and wave because you are live and on tv! a lot of tv. no worries.
there's a dinner in the olympic village that acts as a mingle for athletes. do you stick to your team or meet your competitors? is your old friend on a separate team? is the food any good? figure it out.
or maybe the opening ceremony has ended and you're hard at work practicing in the gym? after all, no one goes into any international competition cold. the practice facilities are only a mile from the olympic village and are as massive as anyone could imagine. any sport you want, any equipment you want--everything's here.
attached to the gym is a sauna, a great place to meet sweaty other athletes. naked.
or maybe you'd like to visit the olympic village itself. meet your neighbors, explore the shops, have some coffee... do what you like. the living accommodations are spacious and deserve exploring as well. just try not to throw any wild parties. (or do. the competition technically starts tomorrow but not everyone's playing... better not piss off the neighbors, though.)
no matter what you do--whether it's something listed here or something else entirely, the summer olympics are OPEN FOR BUSINESS. ]

descends from above a month late
Wanted to know if you'd seen the rest of the Village, you know, that kind of thing.
[ Yes, he is literally here for smalltalk. ]
hallelujah chorus.mp3
but really, why all of this just for smalltalk?]
Um. A little, I haven't done any in-depth exploring... why?
you're too kind
[ combined with a just barely nervous laugh. that was more honest than he'd originally intended, but there it is. he rubs at the back of his neck. ]
Wanna take a walk when you're all done?
[ it's not that they haven't been reconnecting as a battery since their recruitment: kazuya is the starting catcher, nori is one of the main rotation of pitchers, they have and do practice together a lot. but he still doesn't really feel like they've reconnected as former classmates, former teammates. former friends, if it counts. ]
I only speak the truth
he tilts his head slightly, perhaps giving away that he's really quite capable of reading into miyuki's subtleties, and then nods.]
Sure. It'll be nice to have a chance to chat.
[he even smiles a little! this all makes more sense with emotional context, after all, and he can't say he doesn't feel more or less the same.]
no subject
'game', such as it is, not that he has any whatsoever, especially since any and all momentary poise is lost when nori is actually smiling at him.
his eyes catch on that little bit of smile, and he returns it. ]
Cool. How much hamster wheel time d'you have left?
[ he's moving to lean around the machine and take a look, no biggie, fingers curling around the handle in front of him. ]
no subject
but, despite that little push, his hand is gentle, and it lingers for a moment after he's done getting miyuki out of the locus of slightly-too-close-when-he-wasn't-expecting-it, and the corners of his mouth are still curved softly.]
Not long at all. Eight minutes, if you'll let me get back to it so I can pay proper attention to you after.
no subject
Fine, fine, I get it. I'm sure it's really hard to pay attention to anything else when you're looking at me!
[ cheeky, isn't he. he reaches back out to pat the handlebar consolingly - what kind of treadmill needs consolation? - and pulls back, stretching his arms over his head. that this reveals a flash of skin as he turns to go lay all over a weight-lifting bench like an oversized annoying cat is legitimately accidental. mostly. ]
no subject
he goes over to settle a gaze on miyuki's exaggeratedly prone form on the bench, arms loosely crossed, weight settled on one hip. another thing time has given him is confident body language regardless of actual confidence levels.]
Okay, okay, now you've got all of my attention.
