OPENING CEREMONIES
★ WELCOME TO THE WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES ★
[ congratulations, fellow athletes, and welcome to the winter olympic games! the opening ceremony was beautiful and involved lots of pomp and circumstance. enjoy the team walk, snipe at the country in front of you's uniforms, wave at the crowd, throw up on someone's feet out of nerves and excitement, but most of all, make sure you smile and wave because you are live and on tv! a lot of tv. no worries. it's cold as balls, too, so i hope your team supplied lots of warm clothes.
there's a dinner in the olympic village that acts as a mingle for athletes. do you stick to your team or meet your competitors? is your old friend on a separate team? is the food any good? figure it out.
or maybe the opening ceremony has ended and you're hard at work practicing in the gym? after all, no one goes into any international competition cold. the practice facilities are only a mile from the olympic village and are as massive as anyone could imagine. any sport you want, any equipment you want--everything's here.
attached to the gym is a sauna, a great place to meet sweaty other athletes. naked.
or maybe you'd like to visit the olympic village itself. meet your neighbors, explore the shops, have some coffee, start a snowball fight... do what you like. the living accommodations are spacious and deserve exploring as well. just try not to throw any wild parties. (or do. the competition technically starts tomorrow but not everyone's playing... better not piss off the neighbors, though.)
no matter what you do--whether it's something listed here or something else entirely, the winter olympics are OPEN FOR BUSINESS. ]

no subject
[ Since he's not doing anything too rough right now, they should be fine, right? Sanada figures that he can get a pass on just skating and doing a few shots when he's not tiring himself out much by doing these easy drills. Sure, he's digging in - sorry, zamboni guy - and getting some deep cuts here and there along the ice, but it's just so satisfying to get that crisp crunch as he circles the rink. He's doing his best to avoid getting in anyone's way, not wanting to interrupt their own practice. After all, he's pretty sure he's not the only one doing this to unwind, to burn off energy before the games really begin.
This sort of means that he's spending some of his time drifting along the ice in his casual clothes, retrieving stray pucks that miss the mark or bounce off the walls to make sure no one trips over them, apologizing with a friendly "sorry about that!" if he skates into someone's path. As he skates and shoots, his stick taps every now and then to some arbitrary beat he's picked, one that he whistles along with cheerfully. ]
b. grab bag around the village
[ The thing about being Sanada Shunpei is that he is a pretty friendly person. Even rival hockey teams get a fairly cheerful opponent when it's off the ice - even if he's prone to maybe taunting/boasting a little, it's just all in good fun, right? But he's definitely one of the people that will get involved in a i. snowball fight - watch your head, he has a mean throw, he could've gone into pro baseball no problem - or other ii. snow shenanigans, like building snowmen or making snow angels.
He's also easy to spot in the iii. cafeteria, since for... some? reason? he's wound up grabbing an entire bunch of bananas. A huge one. That he has to carry under his arm because of its sheer size. If asked, Sanada'll just pat them and explain that it's incentive for a teammate and leave it at that.
Or you can iv. wildcard, he's a social guy. ]
